What’s That Book About…Again??

At 34,527 feet somewhere over Greenland, I’m working on my 15 second elevator speech to have at the ready. I have always found it hard to describe what Heaven’s Ant Farm is about. There is so much to say and so little time to say it. And there is always the ever present danger of the dreaded “glaze effect.” You know, when the eyes of the afflicted takes on a frosty catatonic look as I dive into the nuances of the plot and science behind Heaven’s Ant Farm.IMG_1481.JPG So I wrote this 15 second elevator pitch for the story. I will need to memorize it and be ready to whip it out like Cleavon Little did in “Blazing Saddles.”

Problem is my memory is not like it use to be. Actually, I don’t think I ever had much of a good memory for anything. In today’s computer parlance of terabyte memory storage and gigabit network speeds, I tell everyone I only have 1K of memory and most of that is cluttered with remnants of junk and advertising jingles from the 70’s and 80’s.

But I digress. Here’s the tag line for Heaven’s Ant Farm that just about sums up the story, background and conflict.

Heaven has sworn off religion. But trouble brews in this scientific utopia as a secular Yahweh battles a pious Lucifer over the impact of freewill on the fate of humans discovered in a parallel universe.
