Where The Hell Have I Been??

It’s been one year and one month since my last post and not one of you rats reached out to ask why! 😊

That’s OK. I know life is busy with high priority activities. Quite understandable. Heck, if it were me, I wouldn’t have reached out to me either. I’ve been too busy with travel, writing and, of course flying.

A recent adventure I had was with an organization called Operation Air Drop. After Hurricane Helene, I flew some emergency supplies to Ashe County airport in Jefferson, NC to help storm victims in the mountainous areas along the NC and TN border. Now that was a very rewarding experience.

Then there’s MILK RUN– a military science fiction story about a young, fresh out of SpaceComm, captain who thought his first mission would be easy. But instead, he finds he must lead a crew and ship much older than he against an enemy that is using his own fiancée to destroy him, his ship and his mission.

The book is finished and I decided to put it down for a few months then do more edits with fresh eyes. I made lots of changes, shortened, rewritten and/or deleted scenes and added more visual dialog to make the book feel like a movie experience.

Now, I’m hunting for a editor to help make the story really shine!

But not just any editor!

My first experience publishing a science fiction novel –GOD GAMES– left me feeling ah . . . well, let’s just say somewhat unsatisfied with the process. I followed the agents’ query submission rules and blog advice and got absolutely nowhere. Most didn’t even bother to send an automated response saying they received the darn query.

So, I self published the story . . . even got some good reader responses and reviews. But I know things could have gone much better if I had committed partners who know the ins and outs of this ever changing literary industry. Let’s face it. I’m an engineer, not a social media expert. This time around, getting MILK RUN out to the public will be different.

So, I’ll end this post now with a call for editor recommendations. Feel free to leave your suggestions in the comment section below and I’ll send you a free eBook copy of GOD GAMES. But remember . . . not just any editor.

Don’t have a recommendation? Then guess what was the most appreciated emergency supply I delivered to Ashe County for the Hurricane Helene victims. Get it right and I’ll send you a free eBook copy of GOD GAMES. Leave your answer in the comment section below. HINT: It’s not the obvious.

See Ya!
